Am Sorry, i can't stop judging people, i have read and i have been told that judging(analyzing) people is a bad thing which everyone does and continues to do, by analyzing a person by hi/her traits we almost waste our valuable time and sadly that time we spent are for hating others(sad) :)
Analyzing and judging people for a single or multiple traits is not a honest one, as the Chinese yin-yang says" Every bad holds a good in it and every good holds a bad in it as well ". so what i am trying to say ? actually i am certainly not a man who never considers other opinions, i give importance to others view.
For funny and for fancy reasons i(we) would have said " I give damn to others opinion, but certainly i(everyone) will live some part of our life for others ", we check our dress and hairstyle twice before we leave and we try to get some fancy, trendy things, why all these ??
Because we can't restrict ourselves from society's view, it is inevitable.
Few posts ago, i confessed a mistake of mine, there a girl commented " For me these are all nothing, i give damn for them, when i visited her blog, i understood her as a narcissist, am not saying that i dislike her, it is human nature to speak something and do something irrelevant ".
A Person who live by his/her words, i know very very less people of that kind, rest(includes me) where will speak a lot(big grin) but won't execute or follow what i said(sad:(). let's put it aside, move to our core.
Indiblogger.in is the site which made me to blog, if it don't exists. i will be downloading some academy award films and watching it, i must be grateful to them and i hope i am. friends i got in indiblogger are intellectuals and innovative people, everyone has a unique thing( there are few cocktails like me too), i have already made a post on INDIVOTES and as usual few liked it and many hated it.
This is a similar post to that, me and my good blogger brother Debajyoti had a discussion on Indivotes, he is more honest than me and he accepted and said at sometime everyone promotes BLINDLY :P it sparked me to make this stupid post :)
I have done that, sometime when i hate a blog title i will just promote it blindly and it indirectly gives joy to someone, but for a month i have not done that, i will vote and read. but i still find as many Blind promoters, like someone who don't know Tamil votes for a Tamil post(lol).
Blind promotion is not at all a sin and not at all a good thing, it should be balanced. to a certain level we like votes, but bloggers expects comments, when a blog impresses me i will make a comment and another reason for commenting is " i will paste my blog address at the end of the comment " :) (confession) but sincerely not only for that. SO i ask people to restrict blind promotion to a limit and appreciate our compatriots :)
There are so many Johny Bravo's too :P i know a guy of that kind, you can see him promoting all woman bloggers(aunty to beauty), never ever seen him on a guy's blog, i
may have poor vision may be.
We cant live for ourselves(true), if we blog for our self satisfaction, why should we need a site to promote our blog ? why should we need a befriend a blogger ? all of us at some point expects a sight on their blog and a recognition for their blog, few deliberately accepts and few denies.
I dont' know how many blind promotions this post will get, one good way to identify blind promoters are, check your comments, a post which got 50 votes will have 2 comments there :P sad sad !!
There are very good and true blog readers i know and i have, writeupcafe is my next home, i like that for two reason, one there are authentic readers, two for Binoy Karan a good man behind that developing site.
Sorry if i have hurt you and thanks for your patience(comments)..
P:S- Please don't scold me in comments :) i will give values to your opinion :) i wont say " i will give damn for others :P ". Leave a comment...

first of all i m posting a comment to prove that i m not voting blindly here secondly thank u for the link :D (i hope the address is correct). yes we all have voted blindly at some point or other and i have a list of few voters who i respect for some reasons and ll always vote for them even though i know they do not read my posts and vice versa. i have no issues with blind voters coz there are other kinda ppl on indiblogger who i detest. and yes my blog is surviving because of indiblogger.
ReplyDeletecorrection - i have no issues with SOME OF THE blind voters :D
ReplyDeleteHey Deepak
ReplyDeletenice post.....
You should look at it in a positive way... :)
ReplyDeleteIf you post a blog and in 1 hour you receive 10 votes.. most of them might be blind votes but it certainly gives new visitors the idea that it is a must-read post and then a small chain reaction starts.. So you should thank those blind voters for setting off this influx of readers to your blog..
But personally I prefer a review system (based on various parameters
) for blogs rather than votes or comments.. You might soon see it on WriteUpCafe.com :P
@factsandnonsense Why this sudden U turn ???? hehe :)
ReplyDelete@Seema Thanks a ton :)
ReplyDeleteI too have found that some people vote just like that... I usually dont do that. As far as possible I try to leave a comment after reading a post.
ReplyDeleteBTW, why so many hyperlinks in your blog???
not its not a u-turn. there are certain voters who frantically vote on everything that appears on indivine which perhaps is not the right thing to do. yes if u r on my network and i don't like reading ur posts then its a different story :D. and as BK said and i have discussed with few people, votes do push ur post up on any directory and then it attracts genuine readers. look at indivine, if you get decent number of votes then ur post appears on the first page.
ReplyDeletewe check our dress and hairstyle twice before we leave and we try to get some fancy, trendy things, why all these ??
ReplyDeletethat's a good point you made deepak
haha, I saw a post that did not even open getting ample votes, might have been website problem or something, for them I say atleast check before you vote.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed sad to see a post of 50 votes getting less comments, but then again getting comments is not very likely. I myself don't comment much in comparison to what I used to, reasons are ofcourse. If I comment, I like to write it good, so it stands out. It was easy with smaller network but now with a lot more people in network, giving time for comments seems rather tiring, but I still like to do my bit.
Dear Deepak,
ReplyDeleteVery well attempt! earlier one was much interesting. No one is blind! it seems to expose support, leave it at the discretion of the reader itself..
Follow or create your own principle on this economics. Likely, i always preferred to avoid comments :) Since i do not consider myself as a critic.
If you decode the value, you will find cost + profit + utility = :)
Thanks to indulge for a post on promotion from me too..
Best of luck.
@BK Well, that will be great :) long live WUC :)
ReplyDelete@NishaYeah mam, just wanted people to visit those places, so used this opportunity :) other links are advertisements :P
ReplyDelete@Readitt Thanks a ton bro :)
ReplyDelete@Harish G.Yeah, you are pointing out perfectly.. forget my post, just a fun filled info perhaps a revelation
ReplyDelete@Harish G.Thank you sir, you are not like us, i know and respect you well bit better than others :) thanks for the mantra again sir :)
ReplyDelete@harish sorry bro:) that comment was for Being AC :)
ReplyDelete@Being_ACThank you sir, you are not like us, i know and respect you well bit better than others :) thanks for the mantra again sir :)
ReplyDelete@factsandnonsense Cool bro :0 yeah i accept your point, if we get descent votes we will be in first page and it attracts real readers too :)
ReplyDeleteI will also vote to show my gratitude ! :P
Well, Deepak, nice post as usual, blunt and right from the heart! I do agree that blind promotions dont help the voter and the writer in any way.I feel sometimes a post is appealing enough to read through but not motivating enough to comment:) Glad you are happy to call a spade a spade! Cheers Priya
ReplyDelete@Priya Thanks a ton for your words, i always wanted to tell you this, i had no chance, now i got it, i hate temples and kinda agonist, though i would like to see your blog and promote :) as a token of appreciation and gratitude, i will always do that(though it is good or bad). gratitude means a lot to me(hope you will read this).
ReplyDeleteJudging is the worst thing you can do to another person, emotionally. Especially when you don't know the person you're judging, his life, his circumstances and what makes him do what he does. And you can't justify it in anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd you leave your FULL blog link at the end of every comment. So shouldn't people judge you for that?
@PeeVee™ well, thanks for expressing your views :)
ReplyDeleteI said the same you mentioned here, hope you dint read entire post, i have told JUDGING is BAD and first line of my post is SORRY, UNDERSTOOD ?
Judging a man for one trait is a bad thing, judging a man for his mistake is not at all bad ok ?
FULL blog link ?? what do you mean ??
I have told everything, fine i will repeat, i usually comment to express my view ok, at the end i leave my blog link to improve my traffic, i dont find mistake in that !!
@NishaMam i think you wont see so many links now :: do you see ?
ReplyDeleteExcellent Post.....believe me, i have really read this post.
ReplyDeleteYour cartoon about blind person it is too touchy
ReplyDeletethis is hilarious. some of the people posting comments here have actually voted for broken links and shocking posts :D. i can paste those links here.
ReplyDeletei agree with what you have written, and although most of us love blind votes, it is the comments from fellow bloggers that make one keep writing and sharing....
ReplyDelete@factsandnonsense You could have pointed out me through private email :P :P :P
ReplyDeleteYeah, I also feel so. But, I don't mind those "Blind Promotes", and even if I don't get them, it's fine.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. Maybe I didn't understand the whole post because there are a very many contradictions and self-depreciation. I had to sift through to what I thought was the crux of the matter.
ReplyDeleteJudging a criminal for a mistake AFTER he's proven guilty is the only kind of judging I would allow myself for it is far, FAR beyond our business to judge other people, mistakes or not, when we are far from perfect ourselves.
Self-promotion is very much equal to blind promotion, in my eyes.
And since you're guilty of that just like the rest of the population you speak of, this post has no base.
I have never left a blog link before. Never had to. If people want to find me through my comments, they do. And I find it irksome when other people do that.
But at the end of the day, it's just me, it's just in my head.
Voting and promoting on Indiblogger is a tough task. There are so many bloggers out there posting amazing blog posts. Some are good but very lengthy and it wears me off to read all of it.. (I do write lengthy posts too ;)) You need to have something to catch a readers attention. You had good caption and good introductory lines on Indiblogger for this blog. You got me here. Once I started reading, it held my attention and I went to read till the end. At times I do not have patience to read all of it but I vote for it because I think the topic is good and it has nothing objectionable. Many times I end up reading the blog and forget to vote for it... I do check the posts of the people who vote for me. I love Indiblogger for all the promotion it gets for my blog.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing, not all blogs deserve comments. You may not feel like saying something about a topic at times.
ReplyDeleteSo u wrote this for the said person in write up cafe. Hmm Virgos are not the only critics;)or are u a virgo btw. He he
ReplyDeleteHey Deepak, I think you have posted an article like this before.
ReplyDeleteIt's a little hard to imagine everyone will be like us, reacting in ways similar to us. No 2 fingers are alike. So just like in life, in the blogosphere, there is the herd, there are mature individuals, narcissists, dumb asses, etc.
I've had someone on my blog saying what we talked about was crap also. But again, it's subjective. While we may find what others say offensive, others may find what we write immature.
Also, I would request you to blog for yourself and not because Indiblogger & Blogadda exist. They are platforms to publicize your blog, not write only to get Indivotes...
Cheers...
@ArunThanks bro :)
ReplyDelete@Latha Vijayakumar ohhh :) just posted randomly !
ReplyDelete@Santa Well said :)
ReplyDelete@Kumar Bibek hehe :)
ReplyDelete@Farida RizwanWell explained mam :) good one... congrats for Ipad :)
ReplyDelete@Jerly Aquarius here... anyone who observes can be a critic writer :P
ReplyDelete@Vishal Kataria well said, epsl the last line, obviously i blog for my reason, but i do expect some appreciations like a common man :) thanks for visiting by !
ReplyDelete@PeeVee™ Still i am saying, Judging is not bad always and not a good one either, it depends on situations and conditions :)
ReplyDeleteI drop a link, that is a sin ? well i don't know that. i drop it to promote :0 that's it... we can avoid linking if we dont like promotions and if we don't want people to read.
i want people to read my blog, so i give link, i have clearly mentioned that part,
I'm an imperfect for sure, None are perfect ok ? i dint put anything here like hurting sentiments, i wonder why you still argue ? read the last line too !
None see's contradictions, i just said it from my view, VIEW differs, nothing is called absolute and perfect !
i will drop link in comment, but i won't comment when i don't understand a post, else i will comment as i don't understand..
i wont argue even with adding liks :P
Cheers :) cool !
@PeeVee™ i missed something in my comment, so adding that here

Why not blind voting, if voting is what matters? Matters to both the voter and the voted? Who/What makes people do such things? The whole system of Indiblogger of ranking bloggers on the basis of votes is responsible. I, for one, don't participate in the competitions of Indiblogger for the simple reason of voting. Even when voting is not required I don't participate because I write for my own pleasure and not for prizes.
ReplyDelete@matheikal well said sir, very well pointed !
ReplyDeleteopinions differ !
Thanks for promoting my post, Gentleman! Now I don't have an attitude nor do I want to sound overbearing, but I don't promote till I have read and am convinced enough.
ReplyDeleteDeepak, First, you set me laughing. Probably because I saw the truth in what you said. Personally speaking, seeing vote count move up does bring a thrill for the new bloggers, probably even encouraging them to write more. To a experienced blogger, blogging is a passion else you wont be sustaining in the blogsphere, the feeling of being read is certainly a pleasure. Good going.
ReplyDeleteBest
Katie
@usp HI :) i don't remem promoting your blog, either blindly or after reading, thanks anyhow for your expression :)
ReplyDelete@chennaifocus2011 weel, that's gr8.. i expected ppl to laugh and understand.. happy for that !
ReplyDeletethanks katie !
HAHAHA, every time you miss my point. And I see that there is no point in trying either.
ReplyDeleteI rest my case.
:D
And you were trying sarcasm? Good effort.
:P
@PeeVee™ :P :) hehe, yeah i was sarcastic satan once, but i dint mean anything to hurt your sentiments or dint take any efforts either, as you said let's rest our argument !!
ReplyDeleteForgot something

ReplyDeleteFirst of all nice post!well written as well. Secondly, I personally never belived in judging an unknown person for whatsoeva reason. but still I do and i dont blame myself for that coz that's human tendency,,First impression is the last impression rite??? agree or disagree our inner soul know the truth at some point or other :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't mind you leaving links in the comments. coz that will promote your blog..flaunting your blog link in the comment is no sin..if it is then ppl flaunting theirs over fb is also a sin :)
cheers!!!
P.S- No offence meant!! :D che

ReplyDeletenice post :)
hey deepak,
ReplyDeletei agree with you .. i make sure the blog i promote i do leave a comment there!!!
but i never regret/criticize if people promote my blog but do not comment...
i may be blind at this but if votes keeps me happy without comments i am ready to live with it....
regards
rahul
haha nice post to get votes:p and genuine ones...but i dun think blind voting is al that bad as lng as u mantain a balance...but der r sum posts i neva miss..
ReplyDeleteyeah, you're correct. Indivine needs a good solution. the problem is to find a way. I'm among few who doesn't comment on many posts because I find it senseless to post one word comments, But by your logic even I would fall under the blind promoters. Rishi
ReplyDeleteI would say To each his own. One reason might be It is easy to vote than write a comment..
ReplyDeleteu wont believe it, i was about to post something like this
ReplyDeleteTo test my theory i had actually published a highly technical article from my subdomain which i was sure was no way related to what i generally post and still i got a few promotions from people some of them i am sure did not know what it is
Hi Deepak,
ReplyDeleteThe post was good. Few points to mention, I appreciate that you typed what came to your mind and just published. I think so because of the typos, some gramatical errors. It's not a matter at all, your content is good. As some one commented it may have some contradictions, fine let it be, so what is lost? You expressed what you wanted to. People will comment good, comment bad for everything. Go on putting new posts boy. It was good to see that you mentioned, " Sorry if i have hurt you " It shows the consideration we have for others, when you are humble, people respect you.
Ok I do not know whether this is the right place to say, but I do wish to voice this; You do write some posts which require deeper pondering. Do some practices which will take you deeper within you. This will expand you a lot. All the best.
@Defiant Princess Thanks a ton !
ReplyDelete@rahul aggarwalcool rahul !
ReplyDelete@rishi i accept your point :) well said !
ReplyDelete@bemoneyaware perhaps :) but comment is what a blogger will expect !
ReplyDelete@John Rob Hai John, i value your comment, this is what i expect, SPADE AS SPADE :)
ReplyDeleteVery well said, keep visiting, i need people like you to know my negatives, i will improve myself and will avoid errors :) glad for your visit ! how you landed up here ? bloggers.com ??
Thanks a ton John !
@MADDYthat's funny :) lol
ReplyDeletehaha! You mentioned aunty.
ReplyDeleteSimply quoting what I've said on the Indiblogger forum:
"I did put a line in couple of lines on Indivine submission giving a disclaimer that "One should not be under the impression that I will like their indivine in exchange of them liking it." And it worked. barely 1-2 liked it.
I thought of doing this on a regular basis but then it looks as if there's no point in Indivine. According to "average time on site" barely people spend on 10 seconds on my blog (except few exceptions- like how I had one yesterday for 27 minutes) so Indivine's concept itself looks as it is a "you scratch my back and I scratch yours" thing. If someone genuinely reads it, very well. But it makes more sense if bloggers promote it to readers (Again- SEO is the only way to go) rather than amongst eachother.
A lot of them are simply "ooooooo excellent post....." and that goodie goodie stuff but there's no actual comment. Maybe genuine bloggers should simply sync their RSS with Indiblog's profile and forget about Indivine. If people want to read it, fine or else no.
OR
We could have a "Blogger of the month" thing where The Indiblogger team can choose someone good and display them/their blog in the content slider (usually where the contest thing is). No contest/giveaway. Just a harmless highlighting of a good blogger, assuming Indiblogger team does check out blogs whenever possible."
Just my 2 cents
I agree....not on the judging part...but the blind votes...
ReplyDeleteit often happen sometimes ur attracted by the title of the post...or you read it half way...or sometimes just promote their post since they too promoted yours
what makes you think that blind promoters are even going to read through this and scold you??:D
ReplyDeletebut i SO agree, its a funny when you get vote for a post that you've deleted from your page.
Ummm...i got a few votes on a post that I'd removed..I was not too happy about that...lol! :D
I beg to differ - I have never voted blindly (Yes, I am proud of it) and nor I ever will. It's not about striking a balance but about stopping blind voting completely.
ReplyDeleteWe all feel good when we realize someone has voted for our post... but think when you go to one such person's blog, (who has voted for your english post) and get to read on the blog that the person only knows tamil and a little hindi, not english (True Story!)...it doesn't feel so good now....
also blind voting takes away the actual limelight from the true voters who actually took the pains to read my post (it is painful at times ;p) and then voted.
hey deepak,
ReplyDeletethis post has taken me by surprise.i was happy for the limited number of promotion my post got!!now i dont know how much were blind promotions...!!!
Hey Deepak, you have an interesting blog design. Cheers for that.
ReplyDeleteFor this piece, i would say, dont reply back to them. If one and all start doing this, we all could eliminate this phenomenon altogether. I got one genuine comment (yours) on my latest post and 13 votes.
You know what I would do. Just ignore it. And as more and more people ignore this, this phenomenon dies a natural death. On my latest posts, I got 13 votes and only one genuine comment (yours) and I havent even seen who all have voted for me.
ReplyDelete@Hemal Shah thanksa ton sir ! glad to see you in my blog ! you spotted correctly :)
ReplyDelete
